COVID-19 Winter 2020/2021 Booking Policies
Capacities and prices of the huts this winter are subject to change because of evolving public health orders. One positive outcome of this situation is that new reservations may be available for significantly reduced prices albeit with some decrease in capacity. On a much less positive note, some existing reservations are having to reduce capacity to comply with public health orders. Public health orders are evolving rapidly and 10th Mountain is working to provide the most current information to allow hut visitors time to plan accordingly. 10th Mountain is changing some reservations in anticipation of restrictions and has adopted a rolling schedule to minimize the number of times a reservation might have to be reconfigured. Please see below for booking policies currently in effect and booking policies for later reservations. If you have an existing reservation for later this winter, please be prepared for changes.

Hut User Expectations
The huts are open to public use only because local public health agencies have developed special considerations for lodging with shared quarters such as huts. 10th Mountain unequivocally supports these public health orders.
Hut visitors are required to follow these orders.
KITCHEN AND OTHER COMMON OR SHARED AREAS
Many individuals can be asymptomatic and still spread the virus.
- People should always maintain a minimum of 6 feet physical distance from non-household members.
- People should limit the time they are in common or shared areas with non-household members.
- People should wear face coverings while using shared facilities, especially in the presence of non-household members.
- People should be reminded to wash or sanitize your hands upon exiting these shared areas.
- Bath, hand and dish towels have been removed at Jay's, Chuck's and Walter's cabins. Throw blankets have also been removed.
SLEEPING AREAS
Sleeping in enclosed spaces increases the contact and exposure time that enables spread of COVID-19.
- Communal or shared sleeping quarters (one space with multiple beds) cannot be shared by non-household members at this time. The hut has discrete sleeping areas intended to accommodate multiple households.
- Pillows are no longer provided at the huts. We recommend bringing your own pillows and, if you prefer, your own bed sheet to cover existing polyester/polyurethane sheets.
- Open windows to ensure good ventilation.
- In summer, consider sleeping outside. The stars will be beautiful!
CLEANING AND DISINFECTING THE HUT
Hut visitors are expected to follow local and state protocols for social distancing and use of face masks, and are expected to clean and disinfect surfaces frequently touched upon arrival, regularly while at the hut, and upon departure. Below is a link to a hut cleaning checklist for hut users. 10th Mountain staff, who typically visit the huts once per week, use this same checklist and the same cleaning and disinfecting products.
The ability to keep the huts open depends on individual compliance with these requirements. All reservations and policies are subject to change.
